PART ONE OF THREE! This is a special report from Infinito’s, a PA-based pizza buffet chain. A “pizza” buffet. Whatever. The buffet offers a variety of pies, including boring old cheese pizza and pepperoni. But what a terrible disservice to this blog that I don’t discuss the weird ones!
On the left, sausage pepper and onions. Pretty standard toppings. A bit heavy handed with the veg and possibly a bit undercooked for those ingredients, but everything is chopped bite-sized and that is okay by me.
On the right, “bacon cheese fry.” To the best of my recollection, this is ranch dressing, cheddar, mozzarella, bacon, and some limp hash browns. It never even crossed my mind that the sauce could be ranch. I swallowed one bite for blog science, but the rest of this piece went to my wife.
As for general pizza stats, the dough is thin, usually cooked fairly crispy but with no nice charring. The red sauce is standard canned stuff. The cheese is not super flavorful, but you get what you pay for (approx $7 for admission to the pizza shrine).
More later.
